Both of your Japanese woodblock prints are from the Meiji era/late 1800s.

From what little I can see of the signature, the first print might be by Yoshiiku.

With a clear square-on picture without reflections or flash flare, we might be able to find it with an image search if you are unwilling to expose the signature.

Cheers,
Stan

Hi Stan,

I thank you for the info, honest I wasn't hiding the signature, it's just as I received the pictures I posted them.
Many thanks.

Hi Fouad,

I wasn't accusing you of hiding the signature. What I was clumsily suggesting is that you remove the print from the frame to get a view of the signature. I know that some aren't willing to do that preferring to keep it framed.

I suspect that manuD might be correct that the artist is Fusatane. In which case, my suggestion of doing an image search is unlikely to work, since there doesn't appear to be much of his work online.

That said, we have one print by Fusatane in our collection.

Cheers,
Stan
