Subject:Unusual Japanese Vase

Hello again,

I was wondering if any of the resident experts on Japanese porcelain could supply any information on this vase, the type of which I've never seen before. The style is quite - well, bizarre, if you see what I mean. It was supposedly purchased in Japan (presumably new) around 35 years ago. I'd be most grateful to hear what you guys have to say about it.

In my opinion this is a Chinese vase, so-called Chinese "Satsuma".
And indeed, made around 1980.
