Subject:Request help identifying mark on Japanese Satsuma Teapot
Posted By: Roger Wed, Feb 26, 2020 IP: 2601:281:c202:b68a:7

Hi All,
Here's a nice Satsuma teapot. Do you know the mark on the base? I recognize the Shimazu crest (maybe Shimazu Yaki?). Also, I appreciate your thoughts on age as well. Thanks so much!

The mark reads: Satsuma 薩广 Yaki 焼 Gyokushu 玉秀 Ga 画 (= Satsuma ware, painted by Gyokushu), with a shortened "ma" 摩 Kanji.
Date: around 1900.
Unfortunately I have no information about this artist.
Regards,
Martin.
