Subject:Asian painting of a blackbird
Posted By: Kathie Fri, Feb 14, 2020 IP: 2603:9001:e02:c388:5

Hello
I have a painting from my father’s estate. I have carried my research as far as I can and am still stumped.
Dad was in China during WW2 . His travels also took him to Japan, Korea, and Vietnam. I believe this picture to be fairly old and think he had it framed later on in life.
It is on silk I believe, and there is green veining running through it, almost as if to illustrate a thistle patch.
Although the signature seems to read Renshan, I do not believe it is indicative of Su Renshan’s work.
Hoping I can find some definitive information here.
Thank you in advance.

Except of Su Changchun 蘇長春 a.k.a. Su Renshan 蘇仁山 - whose signature is significantly different - I have found 5 more Qing dynasty era painters in my name dictionaries with the same Renshan 仁山 pseudonym or courtesy name.
1, 任齢 - Ren Ling
2, 余文本 - Yu Wenben
3, 鄧肇元 - Deng Zhaoyuan
4, 余敬修 - Yu Jingxiu
5, 周璞 - Zhou Pu

With regards,
I.Nagy
