Subject:Korean Monk Painting Identification Help
Posted By: Yae Sun, Feb 09, 2020 IP: 2600:1700:af70:7520:

Hello All,

I have an original painting that was given to me as a gift by an artist from Korea. I’m having difficulty identifying the artist/artist name in the painting as I cannot read Hanja. Can someone help me with this? Thank you!

Inscription in broken (grammatically sloppy) Hanja script
寂、*本故郷惺、是我家現前
古鵲路 不味是白物悪山
Alone, I feel myself in *Bongohyang like at home now and long ago,
Gu Jak Ro, rather the akward Aksan

Seals,
古鵲 - Gu Jak - Family name and first
character of given name
悪山 - Aksan - Pseudonym

* Bongohyang 本故郷 is the name of a famous Korean barbecue restaurant in Seoul

Name of artist; Gu Jak Ro

With regards,
I.Nagy
