Subject:Re: Request help identifying mark on Chinese Food Bowl

The diamond-shaped base-mark, which is shown 90-degrees to the left of normal reading position, should be read across and down from right to left in three lines as "Shang hai - Xu Heng sheng - Qu pin" (上海 徐恒盛 出品), translated as "Shanghai product of Xu Hengsheng".
My Google query of the name produced responses for just a single person in the context of Shanghai or ceramics. The individual is Xu Hengsheng, who is associated with "Shanghai Mosso (摩索 - Mo-suo) New Decorative Materials, Ltd.", as "Legal Representative". He was also named as "General Manager" of the Flooring Materials division of "Shanghai Da Zhuang (大庄) Industrial Company", which included "ceramic products" on its list of activities. All of these hits were dated recently and contained no other information pointing conclusively to the bowl/pot being made by the same person. However, it may be that this Xu Hengsheng started out as a porcelain painter and was hired after a short career by these companies for his talents as an artistic designer. The side inscription may have additional relevant information but is a bit too grassy for me to decipher.
Best regards,
Bill H.
