Reading of the engraved alternative kana text,
あのかたを下からよめばきぬたじる
From bottom to top ( reverse) its name reads kinuta-jiru (fulling block soup)

Kinuta = Fulling block
Tanuki = Rackoon dog

In the old days, Japanese people used to eat miso soup with raccoon dog meat.
