Subject:Japanese Cups & Saucers (3)
Posted By: John Albin Sat, Jan 18, 2020 IP: 24.121.205.32

Hi all,

These have been in my family for ~50 years but I have lost the history behind these heirlooms. Below are three sets of cups and saucers:
1. Ladies with 3 montages (no design inside cup). Both pieces have different makers mark (3 pics)
2.Blue cup/saucer. Both have have slightly different makers mark (3 pics)
3. Red & Blue Ladies w/ bridge/river. Has no makers mark on cup nor saucer (2 pics)

Any help would be much appreciated as I've struggled with my internet-based research. Thanks

For the 3th set, see my reply to your other post about this.
The 2nd set is extensively answered by Bill H.
The 1st set is Kutani ware from the 1930's, marked with IMO the Katakana character "To" ト within a hook or angel, which might indicate the name "Kaneto", probably a small (family) workshop.
Regards,
Martin.
