The mark reads: Satsuma 薩摩 - Keida 慶田.
The red character is the typical Keida Kakihan (personal seal), found on most of his pieces.
Keida Masataro (1852-1924) was the foremost potter from Kagoshima prefecture at the turn of the 20th century.
He succeeded his uncle at the Keida kiln in 1894 and tried to improve the quality of Satsuma ceramic wares, that tended to decline at that time. Some of his works were exhibited in the 1904 Saint Louis Exposition, where he gained fame.
Regards,
Martin.
