Subject:Need help identifying this Chinese seal please
Posted By: Michele Sun, Dec 01, 2019 IP: 2001:b07:a12:6790:84

Good morning to everybody.
Who would be so kind to help me identifying this seal?
Its the same on two vertical silk paintings a friend of mine found in his grandmother old house. Thank you very much for your help in advance.

Dear Michele,

In addition to the seals, the signature, colophon and the picture itself are essential for the more precise identification of the artist.

With regards,
I.Nagy

Dear M. Nagy,
thank you for your help. Here attached the pictures fo the two scrolling painting. They are on wooden table, painted in gold, with silk sheet applied on top. The border is a rounded wooded stick laqued in black with a nail every 6" and metal corner.
I don't have more information. Thank you again. Michele

Upper seal,
山本亮 - Yamamoto Ryō (Ryō was the original given name of artist)
Lower seal,

Thank you Mr. Nagi for your clear and kind answer.
Is it possibile to date precisely those paintings?
Are the two connected together or independent one?
Is it possible to achieve a probable market value for both of them?
Thank you again for your precious and precise answer.

It is not possible to give precise date. Let's say
between 1830-50.
I think the pictures are independent from each other.
The market value could be max. 2-300 USD each.

With regards,
I.Nagy
