Subject:Need Help Identifying Piece
Posted By: C Palmore Mon, Jul 15, 2019 IP: 73.104.49.51

I was looking to identify where this piece is from. It was passed down to me, but I have no clue where it came from. I have the backstory that came with it, but not the Asian country it was given from. Thank you.

Japan. Imari(Arita). Likely Meiji period but can't tell without a full photo of the bottom.

The mark reads: Tomi 冨 (= Wealth).
These Tomi marks were found on Japanese Arita Imari Export ware.
Date: can be anywhere between 1880-1930.

Regards,
Martin.

Thank you so much for the quick replies. I attached a full photo of the bottom as asked. All the information helped a lot. I was way off base. Originally, I had thought it was from Korea. Then, I started to think it was from Japan. That's why I came to these forums...

I believe the piece is similar to the one at the URL I'm attaching also. I'm pretty sure they both came over at the same time.

URL Title :Imari Charger with Landscape and Figural Designs
