Was wondering what these cup holder type tablets are and if there is any age associated with them.

The objects are Japanese,
Reading of inscriptions,
四天王子　-　Shitennō-ji
Name of a Buddhist temple in Ōsaka
頌徳巨鐘　-　Shōtoku ōgane - Large haging bell named Shōtoku (Praising high virtues)
佛法　-　Buppō - Buddhist teachings
最初　-　Saisho - (are) the first

The objects probably had something to do with the aforementioned temple.

Dear John,
I checked a little bit of the history of the said bell on the net. I founded the followings,
Until the WWII, Shitenno-ji's Shōtoku bell was the largest bell in the world. It was planned to cast in 1897 as a commemorative project 1300 years after the death of Prince Shōtoku. It was completed by 1903 weighting 17,7 tons, but it was melted down in 1942 according to the Metal Recovery Order.
Thereafter, I think that at least the two bell-shaped tablets could have been souvenir items to commemorate the finishment of the bell.
