Subject:Inscription on antique Japanese crate
Posted By: Spartakos Mon, Jun 03, 2019 IP: 2403:6200:88a0:bb03:

Dear forum members
I am trying to establish the origin and date of very beautiful Maki-e set. It came in original wooden crate with inscription, I hope there are clues to the maker and date. Please comment if you can read this. I've adjusted the photos to maximize the letters visibility.
Thank you

Pic.2 (Right side) and Pic.3 (Right side)
Fuji no makie - Mt. Fuji lacquer ware
(巻繪 has been written mistakenly for 蒔繪)

Sensai muku-guro suimono-wan - Bitter black colored soup bowls
(杦 = sugi but here stands for 椋 muku)

Set for ten persons

(Left side)
Tashiro shōten - Tashiro shop
One out of two boxes

Pic.3
(Left side)
Fuji keshiki - Fuji landscape

Kuro-nuri shiruwan - Black lacquered soup bowl

Pi.1 (Left side)
Hirohisa

With regards,
I.Nagy
