Marks reads: Watayasu 綿安 Sei 製 (made by Watayasu).

I have a saucer with almost the same paintings, but with an Oda 織田 signature, see picture.

Mark of Watano Yasutaro = Watayasu.

Watano Yasutaro Shoten (shop) was started in 1885 in Yokohama. His pieces are Kutani Yokohama style and are signed Watayasu. Watayasu was not a painter but a trader. The Yokohama traders always seconded the painting job to outside painters from Kutani. That was the normal situation in Kutani, most of the painters were independent. The few pieces with the Watayasu mark are quality painted works.

Regards,
Martin.
