Subject:My Famille Noire Palace Vases
Posted By: Joyce Life Wed, May 01, 2019 IP: 2600:1700:8e50:fb00:

I purchased these Famille Rose vases in 1988 from an estate sale thru Fidelity Auction of Edgewater NJ sold as Turn of The Century.
Well known auction houses along w Asian Art Collector said they were not. Can't find another copy online nor the maker & year produced.

Any ideas???????????Thx U

The gotheborg.com website associates the Qianlong-mark on your vases with Macao, probably dated to the 3rd quarter, 20th century. The porcelain ornamentation shops in Macao produce transfer-decorated wares.

I checked liveauctioneers.com and also couldn't find the same mark on an identical vase. However, I did hit on one Chinese vase in a somewhat similar famille noire peaches pattern without the base shown. Its hammer price of $100 may be low for comparison, because yours are better decorated in my opinion, and they could be larger.

Best regards,

Bill H.

Sorry not old IMO. The detail is lacking especially the iron red bats. Very sloppy work along with a badly stamped reign mark.
My thoughts later 20th century.

Just found out they were bats Mark. The black glaze and pink floral stood out for me against my ivory decor. They say "beauty is in the eye of the beholder"....Thx

Sorry to inform you but these are new, and made most likely in Macau. Possibly Hong Kong. They are not turn of the 20th century.
