Subject:Unknown Chinese Container
Posted By: Julie Thu, Apr 18, 2019 IP: 96.232.131.183

Can anyone assist me with any information with this piece? I don’t know what it would have been used for or time period it would have been from.
Thank you.

This is not Chinees, but Japanese Kyoto Satsuma,
made somewhere between 1900 - 1930.
The marking on the rim (1st picture) is just a number: 三十五 (san-ju-go) = 35. No idea what the number means; productnumber, modelnumber, painter?

Regards,
Martin.

As Martin says, Kyoto Satsuma ware and Japanese.

This piece is a tripod censer and is missing its lid. The numbers are production notations that refer the base to the matching (now missing) lid.
