Subject:Request help identifying Vase
Posted By: Roger Sat, Mar 23, 2019 IP: 2601:281:c202:b68a:2

Greetings All! Here's another mystery. I'm not sure what the mark is or even if it's Japanese or Chinese. Thank you in advance!

Looks Japanese, and the light salmon color under the cracked ice and plum blossom motif at the shoulder is something I associate with some Japanese luster ware from circa 1900, but the pictures don't really show whether it has a luster to it or not.

The character on the base appears to be "恩" (on), which among other possibilities, can be a surname or given name, and carries meanings such as "grace"; "kindness"; "goodness"; "favor"; "mercy"; "blessing"; and "benefit".

Best regards,

Bill H.
