Subject:Pedestal Bowl - signed - Japanese?

Good morning all.
I've had this curious bowl for a while and have tried to identify, without success: one of the people I sought advice from suggested it may be Japanese.
The bowl is approx 7.25 tall and 5.25 diameter. There is extensive crazing throughout and there is a crude signature/mark underneath. Whilst i thought i could identify the signature as being European, I recognise it could be Japanese.
Does anybody recognise the nationality, style and/or signature of this rather nice bowl?
