Subject:Japanese coffee pot
Posted By: Adriano Sat, Feb 23, 2019 IP: 79.54.207.239

The style is moriage satsuma and the mark is Dai Nippon I think.
The mark is not common: it is in the Gotheborg site, but it is not yet classified.
The pc3 (reference) is the same mark I found in the web, but no reference is given.
Thank you for any comment.

The name is Abe 阿部 (from right to left), a Japanese last name in Kanji writing.
The character in the circle is イ = "I" in Katakana writing.
There are several variations of this mark, also this one without Dai Nippon, and others, see accompanying pictures
It's a mark of one of the many small family workshops in period from between 1920 and 1940, before WW2. But no further information to be found on the internet.
Regards,
Martin.
