Subject:Chinese/Sino-Tibetan Bronze Wine Ewer ?

Dear All,

I would like to hear your thoughts on this wine ewer or pot. Especially about the device on the handle. I wonder about the purpose? Never seen something similar. There are a direct connection through the opening, ending where the handle connects with the pot. Also some comments regarding origin and age would be much appriciated.
