Subject:Rare chinese column shaped candle stick holder?
Posted By: richard Mon, Feb 11, 2019 IP: 2a00:23c0:a701:6801:

Morning all,
Could any one tell me what this Chinese candle stick type item is, or was possibly part of? It measures 20 cm tall, 3 cm across the top, 6cm across the base.
I bought it thinking it was an old chinese type candle stick holder.
When i looked closer at the base, I realised it was probably part of something else that might have got broken?
The item has lots of detail, very vibrant colours with 2 little birds on each side of the column.
I am curious as to what it might have been part of and if it has any age?

Thank you in advance for any replies.

Best Wishes R

Pattern on this item looks very similar to a plate out of the Daoguang -era 1821-50. One hundred birs admiring the Phoenix.....
See reply by Bill H on the 06/10/2019 to the
"Inscription and seals on large vase" post.
The fine detail, flowers and birds on the plate Bill H posted a photo off, is instantly recogniseable on this item. I assume this column was part of something else? Any information appreciated.
