Request Translation.
Is this vase Chinese or Japanese?

I believe this "mark" on your circa mid-20th century vase is the auspicious idiom "Fu gui hua kai" (富貴花開), meaning "Riches honor and splendor". However, the third character (hua) used by the artist is an irregular form that doesn't appear in my style book, so I could be guessing wrong about it. But still not a signature or seal mark in any event.

Best regards,

Bill H.

Chinese;
富貴開花 - Prosperity blossoms
