Subject:Two chinese wooden panels
Posted By: Luciano Bertolucci Sun, Jan 06, 2019 IP: 93.34.146.221

Hi everyone
I own these two wooden panels, I think they are Chinese.
I do not know if they are ancient or modern reproductions.
Does anyone have an opinion on this?
Thanks in advance.
Luciano

Inscription,
曹阿瞞 - Cao Aman (Nickname of Cao Cao)
童(潼)關過射死 - Escaped from being killed at Tongguan

Cao Cao is one of the central figures of the Three Kingdom Period.
Battle of Tongguan Pass AD 211 between Cao Cao and the coalition forces from Guangxi.

Flag inscription,
The "馬”Ma character inscription on the flag is the first character of the rider`s name Ma Chao, (馬超)general of Shu -who almost killed Cao Cao.

With regards,
I.Nagy
