Subject:Meiji? Cup and saucers
Posted By: Connie Fri, Jan 04, 2019 IP: 2603:9008:120f:e800:

I am looking for some identification in regards to two cups and saucers I have. From what I understand, they are of Satsuma type design but since they are unmarked probably the only identification would be Meiji period. Any information is greatly appreciated.

Looking at the (lack of) quality of the decorations, this is Satsuma-like ware that was mass-produced for export to Europe and the US in the 1902's / 1930's. So not Meiji period, but early Showa.
Regards,
Martin.
