I would be grateful if anybody can tell me what Indian deity does this figurine represent.

Dear Alex this Indian deity is called Ballakrishna.Generally she's represented as a baby moving on his knees on the floor and more rarely(as is yours)on a pedestal his right leg up and his left
arm up.Balakrishna is always holding a ball of butter(why I don't know why,must do some research...)

Thanks to you I looked in the Internet and found some more information.This image of Krishna most of relevant sites name "Bala Krishna" but more often this iconographic type is called simply "Dancing Krishna".
