Subject:Dzi & antique trade beads/mala identification help (Tibet?)
Posted By: A-aron Fri, Nov 16, 2018 IP: 2601:442:c300:3:d23:

Hello, I am curious to see if anyone can help me identify this item. I have tried doing research on these beads for the past few years and am hoping to gain some information about the different types of antique beads. It appears similar to pieces from Tibet, as far as I can tell. Some of the beads are made of bone (Kapala), agate, different types of glass, and other materials I am unable to identify. I am also wondering if there are any resources that would be recommended, regarding information about beads and the different types of materials used throughout history. Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

I think you will find that these are mostly "Trade" beads, which according to Wikipedia have been used from the 16th to the 20th century in various parts of the world.

None that I can see there are dzi beads, which look more like this:-
