Subject:Bronze charm 2
Posted By: Chris J. Sun, Nov 04, 2018 IP: 89.66.8.28

I have recentle bought a big collection of chinese bronze and silver coins (ca. four hundred coins). Approximately 1/3 of coins are from time of Ming, Song and Zhou. Under this coins there are 11 pieces which I believe are charms. Some of them could be from the time of Ming or Song dynasty. This charm I think is from Ming time. Any opinion on I would very appreciate. The charm is irregular and well worn. Diameter is ca. 4,6 cm.

拾伍 - Shiwu - 15
Accounting forms of the numerals 10 and 5 - together 15
However, the first meaning of character "拾”is to pick up or find sg.
Coin with unit designation "15" never been in use in China, therefore the real meaning of the denomination is "to find a fiver"

With regards,
I.Nagy
