Your best bet is to get someone to give it a Specific gravity test. Or show it to an expert, who should be able to tell you exactly what it is. I have a strong feeling that it has been treated to look old.

Hi Ernest and thanks for replying.
I'm based in Norway.
I don' t know anythkng about that item but I know that it was a part of a small collection belonging one of my ancestors. We are talking about items collected between the middle and the end of the 19th century. Several small Bronze Buddhas, Japanese ceramics and a beautiful treesculpture of a bird that I believe is from Indonesia were also parts of the collection.
I actually have an other small stone figurine that I took pictures of earlier today.(pictures)
Do you know any Scandinavian experts?
