Subject:Chinese vase help with mark
Posted By: Rebecca Mon, Oct 08, 2018 IP: 12.175.74.134

Hello

See here is what I Think is a Qianlong mark on a vase a recently found. How do you tell the approximate age ? Does it mean any thing that the mark is red and gold ?

Thank you
Rebecca

My understanding is that this four character QianLong mark dates from the 20th century. The colophon on the side paintings would appear to be dated DingChou 丁丑年 which would indicate either a 1937 or a 1997 year. From the condition, I think the latter is possibly more appropriate.
