Subject:Question about Japanese copied Chinese reign marks
Posted By: Martin Michels Thu, Sep 27, 2018 IP: 84.26.216.123

I have a question for our Chinese experts about the 2 marks in the pictures below, both copied Chinese reign marks on Japanese pieces.
It's about the first 2 characters: are they pronounced in Japanese: Dai Mei and Dai Sei,
or Dai Min and Dai Shin ?
Or Tai instead of Dai ?
Thank in advance.
Martin.

大明 - Daimin and
大清 - Daishin
are the correct pronunciations in Japanese if we are talking about the said two Chinese dynsties.

With regards,
I.Nagy
