Subject:Unknown marks

Can anyone help me to identify the marks on two vases. One I believe may be Kyoto Satsuma but don't know the age, the other is probably more modern and perhaps Imari? Many thanks

Many thanks for help! I too look forward to further comments from any other experts in this area, particularly on the second marking, but really appreciate the comments you have made in helping me to translate the signatures.

I think that I.Nagy is spot on with translation the marks.

PIC 1 is a mark on Kyo-Satsuma ware, although this kind a ware is normally unmarked or just numbered and in case of a pair marked extra with left or right. Seldom is there a makers mark (Okoma or Kokoma), here also together with Dai Nippon (great Japan).

The mark on the other picture (Meiji) is strange to me. Never seen such a mark on Japanese ceramics. The little triangle next to the mark is often seen on Chinese ware, so I think this is a mark on a Chinese piece.

Fake from China. Possibly.
But you didn't post a picture of the other vase, if possible, try to post that and I can tell more, hopefully.

I believe the type of Japanese vase shown in the middle picture was made in large numbers for export to the West circa the Taisho period (1912-26).

Not necessarily fake, but just a Chinese "Satsuma" decorative vase from the 3rd or 4th quarter of the 20th century.
Recognizable by the marks and decoration as Chinese.
The other one is Japanese, see comment Bill H.

Many thanks Martin. I didn't pay very much at all for either of them, I just liked them and was keen/ curious to learn more about the markings for future reference, so that's been very helpful! Thank you
