Subject:Is this vase Asian/Oriental in origin?

Hallo all.
I have recently been trying to discover the maker of the vase in the image below: I assumed it was British but found no example of the potter's mark. Somebody has suggested possible Dutch or Japanese; so I thought the most expedient approach would be try to confirm or eliminate these options.
The potter's mark is very simplistic: does anyone recognise the potter's mark or design of this vase?

I think this vase is Japanese.

Why do you think Japanese? Do you recognise the mark?
