Subject:Celadon Covered Jar
Posted By: Curtis Thu, Aug 16, 2018 IP: 67.191.49.92

I picked up this jar because of the prominent iron oxide rings on the base and the inside rim. I have read that it takes a long time before this happens to pottery. It has bamboo, cherry blossoms, water lily and chrysanthemums on the four sides.
The lid is also not fitted to it, another thing I've learnt (lids made separately and fitted later to the).
Is this modern or old? I have seen two in this shape online but they had base stamps and this one don't. I will post more photos after it is uploaded.
I must also mention that this jar has a yellowish color under the glaze not visible with camera and some glaze contractions and inclusions of trimmed material under the glaze on the inside.
Could the experts please take a close look and tell me what you think?
