Greetings,
Request your help on translating the signature / mark on the attached painting. If you have an idea on age, that would be great as well!
cheers!

The artist of your Japanese woodblock print is Mizuno Toshikata. Title: Cleaning the Lacquer Tableware for New Year's Day. Printed in 1896.

Cheers,
Stan

Maybe this is not so important, but I'd like to mention it, that the title "Cleaning of the Lacquer Tableware for New Year's Day" is not the correct translation of the Japanese original inscription.
Inscriptions,
茶乃湯日々草 - Cha no Yu Nichi-nichi-sō -
Tea Ceremony- Day by Day Procedures
- Title of a print series by Toshikata-
(Nichi-nichi-sō "Periwinkle" has a hidden meaning of "Day by day"
道具しらべの圖 - Dōgu shirabe no zu - Examination of (Table)wares
However, on the print we can see typical New Year's decorations and on the boxes the inscriptions are talking about "Black colored kaiseki trays" and "Mukōzuke dishes" for 10 pesons - which are not used at tea ceremonies.
I guess this picture with its somewhat different theme was simpply added to this series.

With regards,
I.Nagy
