Subject:Japanese text on old vase.
Posted By: spartakos Tue, Aug 14, 2018 IP: 49.49.238.157

This vase seems/bottle to have some age to it, bottom mark is rather unreadable but the text on the vase itself is clear. What it it? age estimation? What is written on it?
Thank you.

Inscriptions,
買ふて下さい - Katte kudasai - Please buy it
抱かれます - Dakaremasu - I'll hug you
わ多や - Wadaya (Name of the Shop)
卯芽乃 - Umeno (Name of the Girl)
濱町生れ - Hama-chō umare - Born in Hama-chō
Unfortunately, the bottom mark is illegible,
Judging from the orthography it could be dated
late Edo or early Meiji era.

With regards,
I.Nagy

Esteemed I.Nagy thank you for translation, would you say it is a liquor container? Interesting to see the advertising techniques that were used back then. Also it is a rather elaborate painting for a bottle of liquor.
Best regrds
