Subject:Pottery figure

I was wondering if anyone might be able to venture a guess on anything about this old looking pottery figure of something that looks like a funeral item. I can account for the last hundred years of its existence, something my grandfather collected running a freight company in San Francisco early in the last century. It’s low fire earthenware crudely sculpted, missing some of its parts and has some black charred looking areas on the interior and other than that I really no little of its history.
