Subject:Rococo Chinese lacquer tray - 18thC?
Posted By: Pete L Fri, Jul 13, 2018 IP: 2a02:c7d:4d74:2a00:a

Hi everyone, this finely decorated tray 34 x 22cm has lots of Rococo details. Bought from local auction recently. I am thinking it's 18thC Chinese Export. What do forum users think?

Hello Pete
As I've been recently well educated elsewhere on the style and possibilities thereof, could this possibly be "Chinoiserie". Judging by some of the stuff I'm going through at the moment it looks as though it maybe. The furniture people will let us know. Good luck. D
PS. Chinoiserie.....Made in England in Chinese style. There are tons of the it around. That doesn't make it without value by any means. Some of it is worth a fortune. It just makes it "Not Chinese".
