This is an egg shell porcelain hand painted lamp globe. Jingdezhen Porcelain?

The chop is about 3/4 inch square.

The lamp cover measures about 7 1/2 inches high by 7 1/2 inches wide. The painting is of exceptional quality.

We would like to identify the signature and a rough range of value.

I recall that during the 1970s, there was a shop in Hong Kong, just off Queens Road Central, in a narrow lane between the Hilton Hotel and Bank of China, which place dealt in a variety of nice Republic-period Chinese eggshell porcelain items like yours. Not only was the quality high, but the price tags also reached toward the ceiling.

I've included links here to a pair of small Republic-era cups sold by Christies in early 2017, which items appear to me to be in the quality range of your lamp shade. Final price wasn't shown, but estimates were $800-$1200. Keep in mind the cups were only 2⅜ inches (6 cm) high.

Best regards,

Bill H.
