I believe your jars may have been made and decorated in Thailand in the late 20th century or subsequently. I visited some Bangkok-area kilns that were doing such work when I was in that country during the Vietnam War era, and I have one jar similar to yours that I purchased later in the US at an estate sale.

Thailand's ceramics industry has long and respected history, and Bangkok is a historical center for workshops where imported Chinese porcelains were once furnished with brass and bronze cladding to protect rims and other areas vulnerable to chipping. Both industries are still thriving, but the Thais now make and export much of their own Chinese-style porcelain wares.

Best regards,

Bill H.
