Subject:Chinese iron red vase
Posted By: Lawrence Lewis Sat, Apr 21, 2018 IP: 104.142.126.169

Literally found hidden in a barn in a disused old farm property in the Pacific Northwest.

Vase stands 20" tall and is decorated with a group of children. I have owned this vase for many years and would like the group's opinion on the piece if possible.

TIA

Larry

Could you post additional pictures, please, with one straight on profile shot of the entire vase without distortions. The long, slender neck makes me think your vase is Japanese in origin.

Construction, footrim finish etc exclude it being Japanese, this definitely a Chinese vase. Here's a shot of it "straight on"

How is the vase constructed and what is it about the foot rim? Please enlighten me. I'm sure other forum members would like to know too, but were afraid or don't bother to ask.
