Subject:Fine Meiji Era Cloisonne Vase Needing Character Translation
Posted By: Gary Knudtzon Tue, Apr 17, 2018 IP: 174.21.20.207

I have a very fine Meiji Era Pigeon's Blood Japanese Cloisonne Vase with original Padded Display Box needing some Japanese Character Translation. The Cloisonne Vase is not Marked but the Display Box has a Silk Ribbon with some Characters on it which I was hoping to Translate. Really Appreciate any Help I can get! Thank You! Gary Knudtzon P.S. Sorry for the sideways Pic's!

The marking reads: Taihei 大兵 Kinsei 謹製 = Taihei qualitiy product.

There are several translations possible for "Kinsei" like:
- humbly made,
- carefully made,
- respectfully made,
- quality product.
See Wiktionary.

Regards,
Martin.
