Posted By: beadiste Wed, Apr 18, 2018 An older "Doro Shippo" charger. Seems to be in nice condition, with no enamel loss. The geometric patterns are often referred to as "brocade" patterns, as it is believed the Japanese enamel artists that produced these wares borrowed popular fabric designs in order to create the dense fields of small wire motifs required to hold the low-fired enamels onto the base. Also hence the - literally - patchwork design in the border. |
