乄池田 - Shime Ikeda
乄綿本 - Shime Watamoto
乄小 - Shime Ko
The 乄 （shime) is an auxiliary character (補助漢字）with the meaning something like "close/closing". In case of foods eg. edible kelp or sushi refers to something that's pickled (昆布乄、乄鯖).
Therefore, in my opinion this wooden object could have been a part of some picling device for edible kelp (konbu)
The inscription possibly were the brand names of konbus - if I am right.
