Subject:Two Japanese Figurines
Posted By: Daniel Berman Sun, Apr 01, 2018 IP: 2600:1700:bae0:8490:

I am preparing to pass along to my niece and nephew a number of items, including these two Japanese figurines, which have been in the family for many years.

If at all possible, I would like to provide some background on these figurines: what they depict, the material from which they are likely made, the time and place from which they originate and so on.

Also, the arm of the female figure is actually broken off, split neatly along the crease of her sleeve. I would like to glue it into place before passing it along. Any advice with regard to the type of glue I should use and any points to keep in mind would be greatly appreciated.

They are called Netsuke. Provide more pictures of the item and the underside.

Thank you very much for responding to my post.

Uploaded here please find additional images: the undersides and a view of the backs.

If any additional angles or higher resolution would be helpful, please let me know.
