Subject:Can you identify this japanese letter from the bottom of this vase please?

this looks like an ancient ware from japan similar to bizen, does anyone has any idea of the period time and what the mark on the bottom means?

I don't think this is Japanese, or Chinese or Korean.

I am not sure I have ever seen an inscribed mark like that, and I'm not sure I have ever seen a character quite like that.

I suggest this is something trying to look like it is Oriental - but isn't.

If the image of the mark is rotated 90 degrees to the right, I can see the word “FEY” or “FLY.”
