Subject:JADE? GREEN CARVING - DUCK

This old carved duck is 9" long, 5 3/4" tall, and 2 3/4" wide. It didn't have the base with it, when discovered. I added it, because it seemed to fit the style.
I am not versed in Asian art, but I am going to list many items that I have collected, from Asia, for over 60 years.
Thank you for any information that you may have.
If it is Jade, could it be from China? From what period?

this duck is not old, the material looks like a serpentine, not Jade
