Subject:Hoping Someone Would Help Translate Chinese Characters On Plate.

Needing The Translation of what I believe to be Chinese Characters on the back of a Porcelain Plate. Plate measures 8.6 inches and has raised applied enamel flowers and is all hand painted. the Chinese Characters are all hand painted very nicely. Heavily Potted and fairly crude Porcelain. Also would love the Date of the Piece and any other valuable information. Thank You VERY Much!! Sincerely, Gary Knudtzon

Appears to be

開榮軒製

Made in the studio for the beginning of prosperity.

(or a number of other interpretations)

Looks more Japanese than Chinese to me.

I've seen this type of dish described as "Japanese green ware", said not to be true celadon but some other glaze formulation. I'd asked about it here before but don't recall ever hearing confirmation of the latter claim. Anyone know?

Best regards,

Bill H.
