Subject:Taotie Censer/Gui Authentic Antique?
Posted By: Shawn Chong Mon, Jan 29, 2018 IP: 76.69.133.215

This taotie censer for sale caught my eye: https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/496046813/japanese-meiji-era-late-19th-century

I sent the seller a message asking for more photos and other information (the extra photos she sent are attached) and this is what she wrote as to origin:

I purchased the censer from an estate sale in Georgia about 3 years ago from a family that lived in Japan in the 50's and 60's. Hope to share more later.

It looks pretty good to me, but I'm no expert - the only thing that makes me wary is the bottom with a sort of casting ring apparent?
