Subject:artist identity of watercolors
Posted By: DD Thu, Dec 14, 2017 IP: 162.219.176.21

Hi, I am asking for help in identifying the artist of two watercolor paintings. Both have the same seal as shown. These are original art, not prints.

Much Thanks
D.

The seal reads,
天路 Tian Lu (Courtesy name or art-name)
On Chinese language net I could find a contemporary
painter with the full name Li Tian Lu 李天路 without
year of birth indication. The 2 landscape paintings on the net from him have had somewhat different touches.
With regards,
I.Nagy

Presuming the seal reads from the left to right, in keeping with the painting's apparent modern look, it may be seal writing for "Lu Tian" (路天), with Lu being a surname. If it reads from the right to left, it could still be a persons name, with the surname last, or be read literally as "Tian Lu" (Road to Heaven).

Best regards,

Bill H.
