Posted By: marcos Sat, Dec 09, 2017 IP: 187.34.249.254

Dear Friends,

Would you kindly help me identify this porcelain plate?

It measures 29.5 cm.

Thanks in advance

This is a late 20th century example of Chinese decorative transfer ware. You'll find much the same pattern on some of the ultra-thin eggshell porcelains that are made nowadays for export.

Best regards,

Bill H.

Marcos, I think he is correct, I wanted to show you a bell that we have, which was marked Peng chow at some point. Peng Chau is in Hong Kong. I just noticed a similar border, that is probably still being used. Maybe someone will be able to read your mark. I think the bell is from around 1970s, there are similar shaped bells with Imari designs that were made in Japan. I have a few Hong Kong decorated items, and question a little tea jar. Your plate could be newer than1970s, I don’t know, and I suppose 1970s is late 20c, Bill H is very knowledgeable and his information always seems on point.
